WYOMING — On March 19, the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) launched the “Let’s Talk Wyoming” free video series to help initiate workplace discussions on substance use and mental health.
According to the WDH, the “Safety Moment” video series is designed to empower individuals and organizations to take simple but effective steps to reduce risks and help prevent accidents in the workplace. The video series covers a broad range of topics, including workplace safety, substance abuse and personal wellbeing. Each informative video is designed to be easily accessible and concise so viewers can quickly gain valuable insights.
“Our goal with these videos is to offer bite-sized information on substance use and mental health that is easy to understand and incorporate into daily routines,” WDH Community Prevention Unit Manager Rachel Nuss said in a statement. “It’s an effort meant to help improve workplace safety and wellbeing.”
Nuss noted via press release that Wyoming continues to have one of the highest suicide rates in the country and heavy industry workers typically have higher rates of substance use.
“We worked with industry leaders to develop materials to encourage conversations and promote healthy choices,” Nuss said.
The Safety Moment videos are free to watch and sharable for community outreach at LetsTalkWY.org.
