WILSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced Monday that it would be opening the eastbound WY22 bypass and activating the new signal at the intersection of WY390 and WY22 on Wednesday, April 3.

Starting on Tuesday, April 2, WYDOT and Ames Construction crews will begin electrical work on the new traffic signal, which is not expected to interrupt the flow of traffic, according to the announcement.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3, the signal will be activated, and crews will shift traffic at the intersection, incorporating the bypass for eastbound WY22. Weather might affect these plans, WYDOT said.

“WYDOT would like to advise drivers of the new configuration, and remind eastbound WYO 22 motorists that once they bypass the signal and travel over the wildlife bridge on the west side of the Snake River Bridge, they will be required to yield to traffic on WY 22 that just turned off WYO 390 and merge accordingly,” WYDOT’s announcement said.

The new layout is expected to be used for the rest of the construction season, per WYDOT. The agency asks drivers to travel slowly through the construction zone and to adhere to posted signs, speed limits and flagging instructions.
