JACKSON, Wyo. — Starting on Monday, crews from the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) will perform routine maintenance on various sections of WY22 over Teton Pass.
From 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mondays to Fridays, WYDOT will be cleaning ditches and working on other maintenance tasks, beginning on the west side of Teton Pass. Work will not take place on the weekends. Drivers can expect to see lane closures, flagger-controlled traffic and short delays through the end of August.
Work will continue over the Pass toward the east, and will eventually close the Phillips Ridge dirt parking lot for crews to unload debris collected from ditches and road shoulders. The parking lot is located near milepost 9.6 on the south side of WY22, across from the Phillips Bench Trailhead. WYDOT estimates that the parking lot closure will begin on Monday, Aug. 24, and last two to three days, though the closure time is dependent on the work progression.
“Drivers are asked to avoid parking in the Phillips Ridge dirt lot during that time and watch for roadside workers and slow-moving maintenance vehicles,” WYDOT said in a Tuesday press release. “The work should be completed by the end of the month.”
WYDOT reminds drivers to slow down in work zones, put cellphones away, and obey all roadside signs and closures. Weather and other variables could necessitate last-minute changes to plans and work hours.
