WILSON, Wyo. — Home stretch!
The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) announced Wednesday that work on the Fish Creek Bridge repair project is on track to be completed on time, with crews aiming to open the bridge to traffic by “late Friday afternoon.”
“We were hoping to finish a day early, but we ran into some issues with scheduling logistics and material delivery — but we will finish by Friday, which was the scheduled completion date,” WYDOT Resident Engineer Bob Hammond said in the announcement.
Crews from WYDOT and Reiman Corp began paving operations on WY22 over the bridge through Wilson on Wednesday, and that work will carry on through Thursday, the agency shared. Once paving is done, crews expect to stripe the roadway on Thursday evening. Next, “minor shoulder grading” is scheduled for Friday morning. Once grading is done, traffic can be rerouted onto the bridge, removing the need for the detour through residential Wilson.
