JACKSON, Wyo. — As the weather cools and tourism slows, fall road work is picking up. On Monday, Sept. 28, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) is set to begin work on milling and paving sections of US89 in the Snake River Canyon between mile markers 120 and 139 near Hoback Junction. Also on Monday, the Town of Jackson Public Works Streets and Engineering Teams will patch and repair streets throughout town. On Thursday, Oct. 1, WYDOT will begin construction in downtown Jackson on two infrastructure projects.
Work in the canyon is expected to take around three weeks, patching and alley updates in town are likely to continue through October and infrastructure updates in town will continue through November and be completed in the spring.
The paving in the Snake River Canyon will happen Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Pilot cars will guide traffic through those sections of highway. Delays can be expected to last between ten and 20 minutes.
In town, WYDOT will be working on drainpipe installation; replacing a traffic signal at the intersection of Millward Street and Broadway; repairing concrete slab and adding Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) pedestrian sidewalk updates.
Initial infrastructure work will focus on new drain inlets, sidewalk and ramp replacements along Broadway Avenue at Cache Street, Glenwood Street and Millward Street.
Patching projects will take place on the following streets:

- 520 Clark St.
- 25 Redmond St.
- 664 Hall Ave.
- 35 East Deloney Ave.
- 65 South Gros Ventre St.
- Crosswalks at the Cache and Kelly intersection
- Flat Creek Drive and Broadway
- 830 Powderhorn Lane
- 315 Crabtree Lane (Garaman Park Entrance)
- Berger at the intersection with Carol Lane
- Tree root at 2068 Corner Creek Lane
- 2196 Branch Ct. Entrance
- High School Road by Highway 89 and Gregory Lane
- 1020 South Park Loop Rd.
- South Park Loop Road (South Lane before the Blair intersection)
Alley updates will take place south of Snow King Avenue, east of Millward Street, east of Redmond Street and south of Kelly Avenue.
Concrete maintenance will happen at the following locations:

- Brunn Boulevard and Willow Street
- 60 East Broadway
- Kelly Avenue and Cache Street
- 80 Scott Lane
- 45 South Jean St.
- 745 West Broadway Ave.
- Snow King Avenue and Virginian Lane
- South Highway 89 near Stellaria Lane
- 145 West Pearl Ave.
- 716 Rodeo Dr.
- 190 Spruce Dr.
- 180 East Deloney Ave.
- 190 East Karns St.
- Jackson Street and Hansen Avenue
Parking and pedestrian access restrictions should be expected. Motorists and pedestrians are reminded to slow down, pay attention to their surroundings and be prepared for traffic impacts for the fall construction.
