Angélique Kidjo will give a performance through story and song about the power of educating women.

Begin your week with inspiring talks by powerful women. On Wednesday, the Jackson Hole Jewish Community and U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum present a rare, in-person talk with Holocaust survivor Dora Klayman at the library.

The following night, Grammy award-winner Angélique Kidjo speaks on educating girls and empowering women in the Center for the Arts theater. Kidjo often weaves singing into her speeches, making each talk a unique performance.

Explore river culture and conservation on Friday night at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival presented by The Snake River Fund and JH Kayak Club. Films include everything from tales of paddlers seeking adventure to profiles of famous rivers and their protectors.

Get out Saturday afternoon for fun kids activities, local food, live music and about 50 non-profit and government agency booths showcasing sustainability efforts and eco-friendly products. The annual Eco-Fair takes place in the Snow King Ball Field.

Local theater group Riot Act Inc. also hits the stage from Thursday to Saturday with the last week of its production Rapture, Blister, Burn. Helmed by co-directors BJ Hanford and Kathleen Godines, the show boasts a talented local cast exploring the story of two women friends who chose opposite life paths.

Finally, mark your calendar for a free Tuesday evening film called Dream Big: Engineering Our World. The film takes viewers on an inspirational tour from the Great Wall of China and the world’s tallest buildings, to underwater robots, solar cars, and sustainable cities. Presented by JH Children’s Museum, JHHS FAB LAB, and JH Public Art.
