Kick off Winterfest 2024 with the annual tree lighting ceremony and the GlowNights lighting of Electric Dandelions by Liquid PXL with a snow castle opening.

Tree Lighting, GlowNights & Snow Castles on Dec. 21

Bring the entire family and celebrate with free hot chocolate, cookies and sparklers on Saturday, Dec. 21. The official light-up will begin at 5 p.m. TVA is also offering free skate rentals for this special occasion, or you can bring your own.

Mountain Craft Holiday Market on Dec. 22

Then, take a stroll around the Village and pick up holiday gifts for your friends and family at JHMR’s festive holiday market on Sunday, Dec. 22, from 12 to 6 p.m. The market features a curated selection of local artisans, offering unique and handcrafted gifts.

Breakdancing Santa on Dec. 23

On Monday, Dec. 23, breakdancing Santa will entertain from 3 to 4 p.m. Toy making isn’t Santa’s only hobby. Inspired by the 2024 Summer Olympics event, Santa decided to learn a new skill and wants to show you his moves. Swing by the Village Commons Skating Rink and watch Santa break it down. 

Cookie Decorating on Dec. 23

Also on Monday, Dec. 23, enjoy decorating some freshly made sugar cookies from 3 to 5 p.m. by JHMR’s very own pastry chef, Curtis Horka. With lots of sprinkles and icings to choose from, it will be easy to let your artistic side out while enjoying the holiday cheer.

Skate with Santa on Dec. 24

Then, the magic of Santa Jackson Hole Style is not your usual sleigh arrival for the holiday star. Join JHMR at 3 p.m. on Dec. 24 to ice skate with Santa on Teton Village’s ice-skating rink! There are skate rentals, or you’re welcome to bring your own.

Around 4:30 p.m., head over to the Tram dock for a very exciting arrival and welcome the holiday season right! Please bring any last-minute letters for Santa Claus. There will be a box for kids to drop their letters into located by the Tram.

Ski/Ride with Santa on Dec. 25

Ski with Santa on Christmas Day – Santa is a pretty solid intermediate skier these days, thanks to our friends at the Mountain Sports School! Seek him out around Teewinot and the base of the Gondolas around 10 a.m., or find him on the hill afterward on Après Vous and Casper! He’ll be skiing around until 12 p.m.

Snow Cats & Avalanche Dogs on Dec. 26

On Thursday, Dec. 26, from 4 to 5 p.m., take a behind-the-scenes look at the resort’s coolest stuff. Everybody wants to meet an avalanche dog and handler, then you mix that with a tour of a snow cat and you’ve covered it all – big trucks, cool dogs and safety!

Family Scavenger Hunt on Dec. 27

Download the JH Insider app? to participate in the WinterFest Scavenger Hunt! A clue will drop at 10 a.m. for a chance to find elves hidden throughout the Ski area. Prizes to be redeemed at JH Sports & Teton Village Sports.

Sledding Evening on Dec. 28

Join JHMR from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. for some mellow sledding, provided by JHMR. Glide across the slope on aslow pitch between Bridger and Sweetwater. The sled area will be roped off and for one night only sledding in the designated area will be permitted.

Free Skate Night & Hot Coco on Dec. 29

From 4 to 5 p.m., grab the family and join JHMR for a night of gliding around under the Wyoming winter sky with free hot coco! Offering free skate rentals for this special occasion, or you can bring your own.

Raptor Center on Dec. 30

Stop by JHMR’s events tent, located across the trail from Tram Dock, from 4 to 5 p.m. and learn about local birds of prey with the Teton Raptor Center, a nonprofit organization advancing raptor conservation through education, research, and rehabilitation.

NYE Fireworks, Torchlight & Glow Worm Parade on Dec. 31

Calling all kids for the Glow Worm Parade! This New Years’ tradition substitutes glow sticks for torch lights. All children are welcome to participate and no sign-up needed. JHMR will load the Sweetwater Gondola from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. and the parade will start at 5:30 p.m. Kids will finish at the base of Sweetwater Gondola.

Come dressed in skis and boots (no poles please). Participation is free and parents are not required to accompany skiers, but are welcome to join. 

The Torchlight Parade (MSS Staff only) will begin shortly after the Glow Worm parade reaches the base of Sweetwater Gondola, at approximately 6 p.m., and fireworks will follow. Ring in the New Year in classic JHMR tradition! 

Wish Papers & Free Skating with Pizza & Hot Chocolate on Dec. 31

Send off 2024 and welcome the new year with wish papers and hot chocolate after the parade. Sponsored by Jackson Hole Public Art, write down your aspirations for 2025 and manifest them into existence. Afterward, enjoy free skating at the Village Commons rink and fuel up at Southcable with pizza and hot chocolate. 

Low Down Brass Band & Cache Funk on Dec. 31

Finish your New Year’s Eve off at one of the best music venues in Jackson Hole: The Mangy Moose. Boogie down with Low Down Brass Band & Cache Funk to close out one of the best days of the year.
