JACKSON, Wyo. — Another sign that winter is on the way! Winter parking restrictions go into effect at midnight, Nov. 1.

The Town of Jackson prohibits parking on all streets and alleys between the hours of 3 and 7 a.m. from Nov. 1 until April 15 to allow for snow removal and winter street operations.

According to the Town, the winter parking ban is in place because of the potential for snowfall in the region. Enforcement will take place every morning during these dates, regardless of whether or not it snows.

“Snow can only efficiently and cost-effectively be cleared at night from lots and streets that are empty of cars,” the Town of Jackson said in a past statement. “After a storm, public works crews spend up to a week hauling snow and laying gravel to keep the streets in good condition. It is neither safe nor efficient for cars to be parked on the street while this work is being completed.”
