WILSON, Wyo. — The Teton County/Jackson Parks & Recreation Department (TCJPR) announced Monday that it has pushed the closure of the Wilson Boat Ramp to Oct. 2.

The closure had previously been set for Sept. 18, eliciting pushback from local river outfitters. TCJPR says it is working with the contractor to extend river access through Oct. 1.

“Teton County/Jackson Parks & Recreation would like to thank the boating community for its patience as staff works to ensure safe access to the Wilson Boat Ramp during construction,” the department said in a statement.

Normal ramp operations will continue through Sunday, Sept. 24. On Monday, Sept. 25, and Tuesday, Sept. 26, the ramp will be accessible for boat launch before 11 a.m, as construction activities will begin to impact usability on those two days. Private river users should expect significant delays after 11 a.m. both days.

From Wednesday, Sept. 27 to Sunday, Oct.1, the ramp will be accessible for private and commercial use as usual, but visitors should be aware that short delays will be possible and traffic control measures will be in place. Ramp users are advised to use extra caution and heed signage and construction personnel.

The Wilson Boat Ramp access road and ramp area will officially close on Monday, Oct. 2. It will be considered an active construction zone until work is completed or weather shuts down construction for the season, Parks and Rec says.
