It’s the best New Year’s Eve party above the valley, alleges Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Join JHMR for the Gondi Gala, atop the Bridger Gondola.
Rendezvous Lodge (9095′) will host Jackson’s own Whiskey Mornin’ as they usher in the new year with hits you’ll recognize from Earth Wind & Fire, Steely Dan, Prince, Whitney Houston, The Talking Heads, ACDC, Stevie Wonder and many more. DJ Crazy Tom will also drop a “special-themed set break set of maximum energy,” says the band.
The fun starts at 9:00 p.m. with a complimentary champagne toast at midnight and enough dancing to make sure you send out 2017 in style!
The gondola will begin downloading at the end of the party at 1:00am. Dress warmly for the gondola ride. There will be a coat check.
About Whiskey Mornin’
Locally sourced band Whiskey Mornin‘ has evolved over the years from humble beginnings to a nine-piece party orchestra including several vocalists and a horn section. The set list draws from all decades, genres and focuses on high-energy dance music performed with nuance and sophisticated original arrangements. “This NYE we are really pushing to showcase the band’s new sound and level of musicianship. We’re adding in some total crowd-pleasers for this one and also a few deep cuts to keep things interesting. I’m so proud of what this band has become and we’re very excited to share the aesthetic” says guitarist and co-founder Leif Routman. “All of the individual musicians in the ensemble are virtuosos in their own right, so when we get together there is just this wonderful chemistry that unfolds on-stage.”
Touches like a live percussionist laying down drum machine rhythms; the horn section playing guitar lines, and the infectious energy of front man Taylor Upton elevate the performance through the roof; and since this show starts at 9095 feet, there’s no telling how high we can go. If you haven’t caught a proper nine-piece Whiskey Mornin’ show in the past few years, this is THE one not-to-miss!
