WYOMING — The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) has announced the winners of “Wyoming Wildlife” magazine’s annual photo contest, and a Jackson-based photographer made the list.
Winners were chosen from more than 3,000 submissions. This is the 54th edition of the contest.
“On behalf of the Wyoming Wildlife staff, we would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing photographers who participated and entered their exceptional photos into this contest,” said Patrick Owen, “Wyoming Wildlife” creative director. “Our February photo issues are always top-notch publications because of their willingness to share the intimate moments they capture while behind the lens.”
Grand prize for best overall photo went to Rob Koelling of Powell, Wyoming, for “Blossom in the beak” of a rufous hummingbird.
Jackson was represented by Denise Williamson, who won third place in the wildlife category for “Cow and calf moose swimming.”
“I’m honored to be amongst so many talented photographers!” Williamson posted to her Facebook page. “Looking through all of the winning photos and honorable mentions, I’m blown away by the talent, beauty and patience in each and every photo. Congrats to everyone whose photo/photos were selected/mentioned. WY has so many amazing opportunities for spectacular photography!”
