JACKSON HOLE, WYO – For more than 30 years, Dean Ween has been best known as the guitar-slinging partner of Gene Ween in the international cult band Ween. Dean and Gene formed Ween as middle-school students in 1984 and released nine studio albums (five on Elektra Records) and six live albums before going on hiatus in 2012.
The Deaner, however, was far from finished with his career. The guitar-playing punker launched several side projects (Moistboyz and others) and appeared on several releases by other artists like Yoko Ono, Ben Vaughn, and Queens of the Stone Age.
Now, Melchiondo (aka Dean Ween) is back with the Dean Ween Group and the core of what had fans flocking to Ween’s live shows in the 1990s and 2000s has been packing them in while touring two releases: 2016’s The Deaner Album and the more recent Rock2.
