JACKSON, Wyo. — A private development contractor hit a main water line during a construction project on Rodeo Drive Loop today at approximately 12 p.m. announced the town of Jackson this afternoon.

The Town of Jackson Public Works Department shut off the water service to this area for roughly thirty minutes in order to repair the damaged line.

There were no injuries to report and water service to this area has been restored.

To avoid future interruptions in service, the Town of Jackson is reminding contractors to call before they dig to locate and identify buried utility lines. The Town of Jackson continues to perform updates to the town’s infrastructure geodatabases so that accurate information is available for all development projects.

“We appreciate the quick repair work performed by the Jackson Water Department and would like to thank residents impacted by this temporary loss of service for their understanding,” said the Town of Jackson in a press release about the incident.
