WATCH: Police help get deer off roof

JACKSON, Wyo. — This one probably isn’t in the training manual.

The Jackson Police Department posted about a “deer on a cold tin roof” on Facebook yesterday that officers had to help down.

According to JPD, Officer Gerlach responded to a deer that had managed to get onto the metal awning of the parking garage in town. It was a little past midnight February 15.

Gerlach tried to get the deer to climb back down the way it had come, but the roof was too slippery. Then he tried to rope it.

It… almost worked. Instead, it spooked the deer right off the roof. According to JPD, the deer is fine and uninjured.
