SWEETWATER COUNTY, WYO – Okay, it’s not the Dead, but 80s hairband Warrant will be bringing its own slice of “Heaven” to Wyoming’s Big Show After Dark Concert Series as part of the Sweetwater County Fair.

The melody-driven metal band from Hollywood burst onto the scene in the late 80s when they ruled MTV airwaves on their way to selling more than 10 million albums worldwide on the strength of singles like “Heaven” and Cherry Pie.”

A new incarnation of Warrant features four original band members— Jerry Dixon, Steven Sweet, Joey Allen, and Erik Turner—and newcomer Robert Mason on lead vocals. Mason replaced Jani Lane who died of acute alcohol poisoning in 2011.

The band has been recording and gigging since. Rockaholic on Frontiers Music in 2011 landed in the Top 25 on the Billboard Hard Rock Albums chart.

In 2017, Warrant released Louder Harder Faster, which landed in the Top 20, Top 30, and Top 100 on Billboard’s Independent, Current Rock, and Top Current Albums charts, respectively. Most recently, the band recorded a ferocious cover of Merle Haggard’s “I Think I’ll Just Stay Here and Drink” which has been named the official song of the Professional Bull Riding Association.

The Sweetwater County Fair is the largest annual event in Western Wyoming, drawing over 70,000 visitors annually. It features the largest midway in the area, a Grandstand Stage with top-ranked performing artists, traditional county fair exhibits and food, and fun for the whole family.

Warrant will play Wyoming’s Big Show on Wednesday, August 1 at 8:30pm.
