YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Starting Sunday, August 2, and running through August 8, “Voices of Yellowstone: First Peoples Celebration” returns to Yellowstone National Park (YNP) for a week of festivities in Gardiner, Montana.

The week kicks off with an opening ceremony and lighting of the teepees in Arch Park, which will include some opening remarks, song and dance, a drum circle and a flute performance. Those planning to attend the opening ceremony are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets for seating as none will be provided.

“This week-long series honors and celebrates the diverse cultures of the Indigenous Peoples of Yellowstone — past, present, and future,” YNP said in a Instagram post.

Other scheduled events include guided cultural tours in YNP, a native art market, several musical performers and speakers and a community potluck.
