JACKSON, Wyo. — Friday, May 22 at 7.p.m. Dancers’ Workshop will host its annual New Dances New Choreographers (NDNC) event, where students from the Junior Repertory Company (JRC) present a virtual performance of their work to be viewed by anyone, anywhere.

Each year, students of the JRC choreograph and perform their own dances as part of the Choreography Class curriculum. Students in this course study choreographic tools and processes and use them to develop a solo dance. Each choreographer then uses their solo material to collectively create a group piece. The students audition dancers and choose their cast, music, and production choices.

In a typical school year, this involves lighting and spatial decisions on the stage. In this season of firsts, the students are directing cast video recordings and assembling, editing, and producing a dance film version of their choreography.

The virtual live event will share the students’ new dance films with each other, their families, the DW community, and to the general public. The student creators will also have a shareable example of their work for their budding portfolios.

Reserve your “seat” for May 22 at 7 p.m. now!
