JACKSON, Wyo. — Updated coronavirus vaccines will be available in Jackson beginning Tuesday, Oct. 3, according to the Teton County Health Department.
Appointments are now open and can be booked through the department’s website.
Vaccines will be administered at the department’s seasonal clinic located in the Target Plaza next to Subway. The clinic will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Additional appointments will open up each Monday based on vaccine supply. Individuals must bring their health insurance and COVID-19 vaccine cards to their appointment. Patients will not be able to choose between Pfizer or Moderna doses.
Insurance from the following companies will be accepted: Allegiance, Cigna, First Health Network, First Choice of the Midwest, Mountain Health Co-Op, Medicare (Part B), Wyoming Medicaid and BlueCross BlueShield (BCBS).
Free vaccines for the uninsured or underinsured will be available while supplies last.
“The updated COVID-19 vaccine is a monovalent vaccine that targets an Omicron subvariant, XBB.1.5,” the Health Department’s press release said. “This subvariant is no longer the most common strain circulating, but it is closely related to the current Omicron sub variants that are circulating. “
The seasonal clinic will also offer flu vaccines, which can be administered during COVID-19 vaccine appointments. High-dose flu shots will not be available at the seasonal clinic until after Oct. 6, after two walk-in clinics at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole have taken place.
“Appointments may be in high demand and we thank you for your patience while we work to accommodate those who are interested,” the release said.
