WYOMING — Gov. Mark Gordon issued a flag update on Monday noting that all U.S. and Wyoming flags in the state will remain at half-staff until dusk on Jan. 5, 2026, in honor of former State Superintendent of Public Instruction Judy Catchpole, who died Dec. 4. Jan. 5 will be the day of her interment.

Catchpole served in the position from 1995 to 2003, and Gordon’s statement on her passing credits her with shaping the state’s modern school system.

“Judy Catchpole devoted her life to Wyoming’s kids, and our state is better because of her steady leadership and wholehearted service,” Gordon said.  “Jennie and I treasured our friendship with Judy and Glenn. We will miss her deeply and hold Glenn and their family in our prayers.”
