VICTOR, Idaho – It’s a two-for-one packed night at Music on Main this week. DUG and Madeline Hawthorne are co-billed for the seventh week of Teton Valley Foundation’s free summer concert series.
DUG
With influences that cross the pond in both directions, DUG’s magnetism is a limited-edition brew of folk and bluegrass. The duo consists of Conor (Lorkin) O’Reilly and Jonny Pickett.
Born in America to an Irish mother and Scottish father, O’Reilly spent almost a decade making and releasing music in upstate New York, having picked up sticks from his native Edinburgh, before moving to Ireland in 2022 to start a new musical chapter. California native Pickett plays the five-string banjo and brings everyone from Tom Waits to Radiohead to the old-timey American-Irish folk duo.
DUG’s “Jubilee” was shortlisted for two Grammy nominations.
Madeline Hawthorne
Madeline Hawthorne has been nothing but busting the boundaries for front-women. She’s opened for Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real and Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. The Bozeman-based songstress born to classical musicians in Boston has made the Rockies her stomping ground, and has gathered a following playing Teton haunts like the Mangy Moose, The Trap and Tetonia Club.
Hawthorne’s mother was the soprano soloist for Boston Baroque and the Handel and Haydn Society and her father was a conductor and studied jazz guitar. The singer-songwriter has said that folk music wasn’t ever on her radar — until high school and discovering the music of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. From then on, she was hooked and dove headfirst into the Laurel Canyon rock ‘n’ roll scene.
Pulling country into her folk repertoire, Hawthorne’s band radiates from in between genres. Bluesy, hard-driving, tender lyrics and classic riffs enable the band’s brim to reach wide, cowboy boots and all.

Considered a summer bucket list item for both sides of the Tetons, Music on Main is generously presented by the Shefter Family Foundation and strives to bring national acts to local audiences free of charge.
