JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County and Jackson Parks and Recreation Department announced today that Saturday, March 6, will be the last day for ice skating at the Fairgrounds and Powderhorn Ice Rinks for the season.

“It has been a great season and we appreciate the community’s active participation and utilization of the ice rinks,” the county said in a news update.

Afternoon sun and warm temperatures can affect the condition of the ice in the interim.

“Thanks to everyone for your understanding as we are at the mercy of Mother Nature, and doing your part to keep our community safe,” Teton County said.

The Owen Bircher ice rink will remain open through the weekend and the county will continue to evaluate the conditions and provide daily updates.
