Trump signs off on snowpocalypse disaster Light fixture Street light Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – President Trump took steps to officially declare a major disaster existed in Teton County, Wyoming after an early February storm knocked down power lines to Teton Village.

The signed order will make federal funding available to assist recovery efforts for the areas affected by the storm that hit Teton County February 6-7.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) aid will cover certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work, and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe winter storm. Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.

Robert J. Fenton, FEMA’s acting administrator, named Ms. Nancy M. Casper as the coordinating officer for federal recovery operations in the affected areas. Additional designations may be made at a later date if requested by the state and warranted by the results of further damage assessments.
