JACKSON, Wyo. — The Town of Jackson, in partnership with Community Prevention Coalition of Teton County, Teton County Sheriff’s Office, the Jackson Police Department and One Pill/Can Kill, is offering a Drug Take Back Day for all residents on Wednesday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Community members can bring expired or unused medications for safe disposal methods at local drop boxes. All medicines dropped off are destroyed. Bring all unused medicines in a plastic bag (no pill bottles accepted) and deposit them in the Drug Take Back Safe or drop box.
“Help keep our children, families, friends, animals and environment safe,” Town said in the announcement.
According to Town, in April 2022, approximately 78 pounds of medication was collected for disposal.
Items not accepted for drop-off include:
- Pill bottles
- Needles or syringes
- Liquids
- Powders
- Pressurized canisters
- Thermometers
- Illicit drugs
The Teton County Sheriff’s Office has a Drug Take Back safe located in its lobby at 180 S. King Street. Lobby hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Medication can also be brought to a drop box located in the Town of Jackson’s parking lot at 150 E. Pearl Street.
