JACKSON, Wyo. — At its meetings on Tuesday, Jan. 21, Jackson’s Town Council made progress toward filling the open council seat left vacant by new Mayor Arne Jorgensen.
Councilors met in public and closed “executive” sessions to narrow the list of 17 applicants down to five finalists: Scott Anderson, Frederic Gordon, Shelby Read, Alyson Sperry and Katie Wilson. These five will sit for public interviews beginning on Thursday, Jan. 23, and continuing to Friday, Jan. 24, if necessary.
Notably, Anderson has served three previous terms on Jackson’s Town Council, and ran again last year.
“We had a truly impressive group of applicants, which I am extremely grateful for,” Jorgensen said in a statement. “Sincere thanks to everyone that applied.”
Councilors workshopped and approved 11 interview questions, covering topics including the Town budget, how to handle population growth, affordable housing availability, environmental stewardship and more.
