JACKSON, Wyo. — Jackson’s Town Council approved restrictions for two affordable housing units as part of the newly expanded Rusty Parrot Lodge development at its July 1 meeting.
Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson signed the two deed restrictions to ensure that both units will function as affordable housing in perpetuity under compliance of the Housing Department.
In 2020, Rusty Parrot lodge was issued a new building permit for a new hotel, spa and restaurant after fire damage. Approval of the building permit included a condition from the Planning Department that an on-site one-bedroom be designated as a 80 to 120% area median income (AMI) unit, and an off-site two-bedroom be designated as a 50 to 80% AMI unit, according to the Town. The on-site restricted unit is located on 175 N Jackson Street and the off-site restricted existing unit is located on 355 W Deloney Avenue (Unit A-1, Antelope Building Meadowbrook Village).
According to the Town, the units are in alignment with the Town’s Comprehensive Plan by strategically providing a variety of housing types to help reduce the shortage of affordable housing available to the workforce.
On July 1, the Rusty Parrot reopened its doors to guests, after five years of construction.
