TETON VILLAGE, Wyo. — Head up to Teton Village to see celebrated violinist Augustin Hadelich play in three Grand Teton Music Festival performances this week.
GTMF favorite Hadelich returns to Walk Festival Hall to perform at Festival Orchestra concerts on Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29, featuring his performance of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto, which Hungarian violinist Joseph Joachim called “the greatest, most uncompromising” of the German violin concertos. Maestro Donald Runnicles will also lead the Festival Orchestra in Brahms’ “free but happy” Symphony No. 3 and a world premiere companion piece composed by Detlev Glanert.
In addition, the Benoliel Chamber Music Series kicks off on Thursday, June 27, with Hadelich playing Dvorák’s Terzetto in C Major with two other festival musicians. The evening’s program features additional selections from Mozart, Brahms and more.
Hadelich was appointed Professor in the Practice of Violin to the faculty of the Yale School of Music in 2021. He plays a violin by Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù from 1744.
