JACKSON, Wyo. — This Memorial Day, The Town of Jackson is paying tribute to the fallen men and women who served in the U.S. Military.

The Jackson Town Hall will be closed on Monday, May 30 in observance of the holiday. Town Hall will re-open on Tuesday, May 31 at 8 a.m.

The American Legion Post No. 43 will be holding a Memorial Day ceremony in the George Washington Park (Town Square) starting at 10 a.m.

At the direction of President Biden, Governor Mark Gordon ordered the U.S. and State of Wyoming flags to be lowered to half-staff on Memorial Day, May 30, at 12:01 a.m. and returned to full staff at 12 p.m.

In the Memorial Day proclamation, the President states “We remember the patriots who gave their lives in the service of America, in the service of freedom, and in the service of justice.” 

“They made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our Constitution and our democracy.  We are free because they were brave, and we live by the light of the flame of liberty they kept burning.  They are all heroes, and our Nation is forever grateful.”
