JACKSON, Wyo. — A staple in the local scene for a dozen years, former Jackson Hole residents Anne & Pete Sibley will return for their first public homecoming in five years. The husband-and-wife folk and bluegrass duo will be joined by string band Marmot Ate My Boots for a concert this Sunday afternoon at Presbyterian Church of JH benefitting Silver Stallion Bicycle.

Called “one of the sweetest, most soulful and hauntingly beautiful duets in the business” by Bluegrass Now Magazine, The Sibleys made a national splash when they won A Prairie Home Companion’s 2009 Great American Duet Sing-Off. They have delivered a spiritual connection through story and song over the course of four studio albums and their most recent EP, Wandering to be Found (2012). They moved away from Jackson to California in 2011, where they’ve transitioned into a different lifestyle.

“We have been playing a lot more cover tunes!” Anne said. “We also both spent the last five years playing individually at the hospital every week. This has strengthened our individual skills as musicians and feels like it’s made the duo even stronger. We have never stopped playing music but we have added other professions into the mix!”

Located in Gallup, New Mexico, Silver Stallion Bicycle & Coffee Works is a nonprofit recyclery bike shop and coffee shop providing sales and service as well as job skill training to both youth and young adults. Run by Scott Nydam, the nonprofit empowers youth and young adults through vocational skills in the bicycle repair and specialty coffee industries.

“Pete and Aaron Nydam have connected through the science school,” Anne explained. “Aaron was kind enough to offer to host a concert and this is his brother’s amazing organization.”

Though the duo hasn’t officially released music since 2012, Anne launched a Patreon page back in January pledging to release a new song each week to the subscribers.

“It has kept her writing and home recording,” Pete said. “Both of us are working on skills to produce music for TV and commercials.”
