JACKSON, Wyo. — Since 2010, Friends of Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center has been the support organization of the Bridger Teton Avalanche Center (BTAC). Each year, Friends of BTAC has helped to raise 70% of the avalanche center’s funding through private donations while raising awareness of their essential contributions of avalanche data, forecasts and education for Northwest Wyoming.

As Friends of Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center has grown in scope, they felt it was fitting to rebrand the organization as the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center Foundation. They can be found on their new website at jhavalanchefoundation.org.

Rest assured, the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center Foundation is committed to ensuring that the avalanche center will have the resources to provide the data and services that winter backcountry users rely on for a safe and informed backcountry experience.

Over the next few months, the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center Foundation will lead a comprehensive campaign to message the name change to the community, so please help to spread the word to your fellow backcountry partners.

If you are a backcountry recreation user, please consider a donation to the Foundation through Old Bill’s Fun Run starting on August 1. Search “Avalanche” in the nonprofit list. Every dollar goes directly to the in-depth forecasts you rely on!
