JACKSON, Wyo. — Ready for more snow?
The National Weather Service’s Riverton, Wyo., office (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, in effect from 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, until 5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11.
The Teton, Gros Ventre, Salt River and Wyoming mountain ranges are expected to see snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches and gusting winds up to 40 mph.
“The heaviest snow will fall Friday night,” NWS noted. “Travel could be difficult, including over Teton, Togwotee and Salt Passes. Slow down and use caution while traveling.”
Buckrail Meteorologist Alan Smith broke down why snowfall has been so light in town recently despite abundant high-elevation snowfall in his Wednesday forecast. As usual, weather forecasts are likely to evolve. Be sure to check the NWS website for updates.
