JACKSON, Wyo. — The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Teton and Gros Ventre ranges, in effect from 8 p.m. on Wednesday until 1 p.m. on Thursday.

Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches are expected in the mountains, with up to 12 inches possible at the highest elevations of the Tetons, NWS anticipates. Wind gusts could reach 40 mph.

NWS warns that travel could be difficult over Teton and Togwotee Passes amid blowing and falling snow. Togwotee Pass could see 4 to 6 inches and Teton Pass could see 2 to 5 inches. Gusting wind might bring periods of reduced visibility due to blowing snow, per the advisory.

On the valley floor, a mix of rain and snow is in the cards. Tonight’s forecasted rain could transform to snow as the temperature drops, with more rain and snow expected Thursday and Friday. Keep an eye on the NWS forecast here.
