JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton Pass will be closed today, Jan. 28 at 8 p.m. for avalanche mitigation.

WYDOT says that no parking begins at noon between the closure gates at the Idaho State Line and the gate Wilson, and that it will be strictly enforced. The no parking area is between milepost 7 to 17.

Right now a chain law level one is in effect for Teton Pass. Reduced visibility, winter driving conditions, and increasing avalanche hazard may force an earlier closure.

Highway travelers and backcountry users are advised to plan accordingly.
