WILSON, Wyo. — The Wyoming Department of Transportation advises commuters to slow down and allow extra time over Teton Pass due to slick conditions.
As of 7:46 a.m., WYDOT reports black ice and falling rock conditions to be expected.
No trailer traffic and a weight limit of 60,000 GVW is in effect over Teton Pass.
According to Buckrail meteorologist Alan Smith, a “strong” El Niño phase developed in the Pacific Ocean predicts temperatures are more likely to start out on the colder side of average early in the winter in November and December, before trending warmer than average from January through March.
Trailers are banned from using the Pass until April 1.
