JACKSON, Wyo. – The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) has scheduled two separate closures tomorrow for Teton Pass and Hoback Canyon. On Feb. 21, Teton Pass will close at 3 a.m. and Hoback Canyon will close at 7 a.m. for avalanche mitigation.

Parking restrictions on Teton Pass will also be strictly enforced starting Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. and anticipated to be in effect through Tuesday. No parking will be allowed at the summit of Teton Pass and Coal Creek.

“Highway travelers and backcountry users are advised to plan accordingly,” Don Lawless, Jackson maintenance/avalanche supervisor, said in a press release.

Reduced visibility, winter driving conditions and increasing avalanche hazard may force an earlier closure for both Hoback Canyon and Teton Pass.

A storm system is moving through Jackson Hole and is expected to worsen overnight. Buckrail will continue to update road closure status as conditions change.
