JACKSON, Wyo. — COVID-19 cases have again begun to rise in Teton County and across the state as restrictions ease.

Teton County’s active case count grew to eight in the last 10 days. The state has 124 new cases, according to a press release from Governor Mark Gordon.

The amount of new cases is “concerning,” according to the state’s dashboard. Still, the amount of cases linked to community spread is stabilizing and the rate of tests that are positive is improving.

The biggest spike of cases is in Uinta County, which now has 98 confirmed cases. That’s up 11 cases from yesterday. The surge has been linked to a social gathering where people were not observing social distancing. Healthcare workers have been impacted and two clinics have closed.

Teton County health officials remind residents and visitors to practice good hygiene and take health precautions seriously. Wash your hands, practice physical distancing where possible, and wear cloth face coverings in public spaces where physical distancing is not possible. Stay home if you feel sick.
