Teton County Scholarship Program celebrates Class of 2023 with over $1M in Scholarships

JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Scholarship Program (TCSP) was pleased to announce its 2023 winners at Scholarship Night on April 26. This year, 133 students from across Teton County applied for 70 scholarships sponsored by generous local donors. A grand total of $1,044,900 was awarded to Teton County high school seniors.

Dr. Gillian Chapman, Superintendent of Teton County School District #1, said, “I am simply speechless and inspired by the generosity of our community, with over $1 million dollars awarded to students tonight, thank you doesn’t seem quite adequate. The support of local donors help students transition into their new and exciting post-secondary worlds knowing that we are all supporting them each step of the way. These scholarships make a difference for our students being able to dream big, and we look forward to seeing where they will go!”

TCSP is administered by the Fund for Public Education and the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole, in partnership with TCSD#1. It is open to all graduating high school seniors in Teton County, including home-schooled students.

“The Teton County Scholarship program is emblematic of Jackson Hole in so many ways,” said Jennifer Jellen, the Fund for Public Education’s executive director. “This is about our community coming together to make amazing things happen for local students and families. It’s about supporting the future of the valley, and ensuring a bright future for all.”

Local donors came together to provide funding for 264 individual TCSP awards. The awards celebrate student achievements ranging from academics to athletics to community service to resilience in the face of adversity.

“Through the generosity of the Teton County Scholarship Program, we are investing in the bright futures of the class of 2023,” said Community Foundation President Laurie Andrews. “The financial costs associated with college are a roadblock for many students, and we are honored to help bridge the gap with scholarships.”
