JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Health Department is excited to launch a program to support community members that struggle with Seasonal Affective Disorder as we head into the winter season. The “Beat the Winter Blues” Program is a BINGO game geared to highlight various tools and resources on the web platform CredibleMind, suggestions for self-care habits and free community events.

Bingo cards can be found at the following locations and are available online for at-home printing.

Bingo card locations and drop-off boxes:

  • Mental Wellness Collaborative, 690 US-89 #201
  • Senior Center of Jackson Hole, 830 E Hansen Ave.
  • Teton County Health Department, 460 E Pearl Ave.
  • Teton County Library, 125 Virginian Ln.
  • Teton County Parks and Recreation Center, 220 N King St.

To participate, community members need to cover five squares in any vertical, horizontal or diagonal row to make “BINGO.” Once an activity in a square is complete, cross that square off. Return completed cards to any of Drop Off boxes with the participant’s name and phone/email.

Completed bingo boards will be collected weekly starting the week of Nov. 18 through Friday, Dec. 13, for raffle prizes. Prizes include light therapy lamps, movie tickets, Astoria hot springs tickets and more! Complete a winter blues bingo card for a chance to win.

Seasonal Affective Disorder is a set of depressive symptoms such as low energy, sadness, changes in appetite, etc. Seasonal Affective Disorder is when these depressive symptoms are tied to seasonal changes such as during the darker, colder months of the year. Research shows healthy lifestyle habits, movement and social connection can help alleviate symptoms of seasonal depression.
