JACKSON, Wyo. — A new report by the Wyoming Department of Education (WDE) notes that the graduation rate for Teton County School District #1 was 93.7% in the 2022-2023 school year, a nearly identical figure to the prior year’s rate of 93.8%.

The class of 2023 saw 194 students graduate in Teton County, out of a cohort of 207 expected graduates. The class of 2022 had 196 out of 209 graduate. Prior to that, the rates look similar, with a slight uptick for the class of 2021, which saw 160 out of 164 graduate, yielding a rate of 97.6%. The class of 2020’s graduation rate was 93.6%, and the class of 2019 saw a rate of 94%.

TCSD was one of 13 school districts in the state with a graduation rate of 90% or above.

According to the WDE, the statewide rate for the most recent school year was 81.4%, consistent with the last few years. Wyoming’s graduation rates have exceeded 80% since the 2015-2016 school year, which the report calls “statistically strong.” Although the statewide rate for the 2021-2022 school year was slightly higher at 81.8% of students graduating, the graduating class of 2023 had 284 more graduating students.

“Not only will we continue to work toward every high school senior graduating, but that when they do they are fully prepared for the future workforce,” State Superintendent of Public Instruction Megan Degenfelder said in a statement.
