JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County has extended the deadline to provide feedback on the Wilson Downtown Improvement Project through May 17, 2021, in an effort to secure more public input.
In partnership with the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the community of Wilson, Teton County has developed a preliminary concept to safely accommodate motorists, transit users, bicyclists, and pedestrians on and parallel to Wyoming Highway 22 through Wilson from approximately Elliott Cemetery Road to Wenzel Lane. The preferred concepts address a variety of areas for improvement, such as vehicular capacity and safety, access management, pathway development, safe routes to school, pedestrian crossings, and corridor aesthetics.
The public is encouraged to provide input to the Planning Team on the preferred concepts for Wyoming Highway 22 through and around Wilson. A virtual open house to learn more about the proposed preliminary concepts and provide feedback is available at https://wilson.altaplanning.cloud/ and will be open through May 17, 2021. This will be the final opportunity to provide public comment on the project. After May 17, public input will be used to develop final recommendations to go before the County Commissioners & WYDOT for their considerations. The final Wilson Downtown Improvement Plan, if approved, will move forward to final design and construction and be funded by the recently approved 2020 BUILD transportation improvements grant and Teton County.
