JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Clerk Maureen Murphy is reminding the community of the new early voting rules. Passed during the 2023 Wyoming Legislative session, and taking effect for the 2024 election cycle, early voting dates are now 28 days leading up to election day.
General Election absentee ballots were mailed out on Oct. 8 to all voters who requested a ballot through the mail. Ballots will be accepted through Monday, Nov. 4. Early In-Person voting is also available at the Administration Building (200 S Willow), Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through November 4. Please keep in mind that the absentee polling site is not open on Election Day. You must vote at a designated vote center on Election Day.
Voter ID
Effective July 1, 2021, Wyoming voters are required to show an acceptable form of identification when voting in person. There are many ID options to use to prove identity. Any of the following documents will be accepted:
- WY Driver’s License or ID Card
- Tribal ID Card
- U.S. Passport
- U.S. Military Card
- Valid Wyoming Concealed Firearm Permit
- DL or ID Card from Another State
- University of Wyoming Student ID
- Wyoming Community College Student ID
- Wyoming Public School Student ID
- Valid Medicare Insurance Card*
- Valid Medicaid Insurance Card*
*Medicare and Medicaid insurance cards will no longer be an acceptable form of identification for voting purposes after December 31, 2029.
Those without one of the documents in the list above can obtain a free Wyoming Identification Card from the local Driver Services office.
