JACKSON, Wyo. — On Saturday, Feb. 15, the Teton Backcountry Alliance will be hosting a free evening of “Teton tales” with ski mountaineers Andrew McLean, Madison Ostergren and Adam Fabrikant.

McLean is an award-winning backcountry skier, guide and speaker, who will share stories including Teton missions with Alex Lowe, Doug Coombs, Hans Saari, Bean Bowers, Steve Romeo and others.

Professional skier Ostergren will share her film, “The Birth Canal Couloir,” reflecting on the pressures, risks and benefits of being a female in the ski industry, and discussing the challenges of social media, mental and physical health and risk management.

Exum guide and ski mountaineer Fabrikant will recount his historic Teton traverse with Michael Gardner and Brendan O’Neill, which included ski ascents and descents of Buck, Wister, South Teton, Middle Teton, Grand Teton, Owen and Teewinot all in a 20-hour push.

Chip Jenkins, superintendent of Grand Teton National Park, will also provide an update on the forthcoming Teton Bighorn Sheep Environmental Assessment and invite the backcountry ski community to contribute to the herd’s conservation.

Doors will open at 6:15 p.m., with presentations starting at 7 p.m. at the Old Wilson School House. Pizza and drinks will be served.
