JACKSON, Wyo. — A 24-year-old Minnesota man was pronounced dead after a snowmobile crash on Togwotee Pass today.

According to the Teton County Search and Rescue, the man was snowmobiling near the Muskrat Flats area of Togwotte pass when his snowmobile crashed and rolled on top of him. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

TCSAR extracted the snowmobiler via helicopter and took him to the road where the ambulance was waiting. The name of the snowmobiler has not yet been released.

Shortly before responding to the snowmobile crash on Togwotee Pass, TCSAR was busy helping an injured skier on Teton Pass.

At around 9 a.m. this morning, a skier who was skiing The Claw on the south side of Teton Pass fell roughly 200 feet down a series of cliffs.

According to TCSAR, the skier had an arm/shoulder injury, and had lost both his skis during the fall. The skier remained hurt and stranded until TCSAR was able to evacuate the skier via helicopter to an ambulance that was staged at the top of Teton Pass.

Buckrail offers sincerest condolences to friends and family of the deceased.
