JACKSON, Wyo. — Yesterday just past noon, Teton County Search and Rescue volunteers were alerted to an injured snowmobiler near Two Ocean Mountain on Togwotee Pass.
TCSAR responded with its heli and snowmobile teams to a male victim who had broken his arm.
“The helicopter was able to land near the patient, load him into the ship, and fly him to an LZ near Togwotee Lodge,” said TCSAR. “From there, friends transported the patient to further medical care. Door to door, TCSAR volunteers completed the mission in just under three hours.”
TCSAR advises that with the return of winter conditions and new snowfall, backcountry users should make sure to check the avalanche forecast with the Bridger-Teton Avalanche Center.
“[Carry] appropriate gear for your outing, [notify] someone of where you are going, and have the ability to communicate should something go wrong.”
