Editor’s Note: TCSAR originally stated Thursday morning that it had placed an airspace restriction over the greater Snow King area during today’s helicopter demonstration. TCSAR later issued a correction, “asking the public to be cautious” around the event. That change is reflected below.

JACKSON, Wyo. — To help ensure safety during a helicopter demo, Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) is asking the public to be cautious around the Greater Snow King area today, from 11:45 a.m. to 6:30 pm.

During this timeframe, TCSAR is coordinating the arrival and departure of four helicopters to the base of Snow King as part of the International Commission for Alpine Rescue (ICAR). The areas where helicopters might fly include Leeks Canyon, Snow King summit and the Cache Creek area. TCSAR is asking residents and visitors to refrain from using drones (unmanned aerial vehicles) or paragliders in the vicinity of the public demonstration.

TCSAR wrote via press release that today’s helicopter event is part of day 2 of the ICAR conference, which is hosting 600 rescuers, delegates and search and research professionals from 25 countries. The emergency rescue helicopters, including the Airbus H145 D3, Bell 407, Leonardo AW169 and the TCSAR Airbus H125, will be on display at the Snow King Ballfield from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

“We welcome the public to come check out the helicopters and meet search and rescue personnel and pilots,” TCSAR said.
