JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue (TCSAR) responded to an injured skier in the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) sidecountry on Saturday morning.
A social media post by TCSAR stated that the call came in from JHMR Ski Patrol just before 11 a.m. Ski Patrol requested helicopter assistance to evacuate the skier, a 33-year-old male who had fallen and sustained injuries. The skier was attempting to ski No Shadows on the north shoulder of Cody Peak.
“After ski patrol responded and requested heli assistance, TCSAR mobilized a crew consisting of the pilot and two volunteers,” reads the post. “Coordinating with ski patrol, the heli team was able to land near the patient and load him for internal transport.”
The helicopter transported the patient to a landing zone at the base of the ski resort, and the patient was transferred to higher medical care.
TCSAR thanked the JHMR Ski Patrol for its coordination and partnership in resolving this incident in one hour and 35 minutes.
