JACKSON, Wyo. — A significant emergency response was mobilized around 4:40 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2, with numerous sirened vehicles zooming down US89 during rush hour.

Emergency page-outs reported a structure fire at the Snake River Sporting Club’s Sylvan Lodge. According to those page-outs, the hotel was evacuated after the fire in the fireplace grew into the chimney and started emitting thick, dark smoke. When reached by phone at 6 p.m., the Jackson Hole Fire/EMS battalion chief on duty did not share any details about the situation but stated that firefighting operations were still underway. The Snake River Sporting Club did not respond to Buckrail’s inquiries by press time.

This is a developing story. Buckrail will provide updates as information becomes available.
