JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton Backcountry Alliance (TBCA) will host its annual series of three free avalanche search clinics in partnership with Yostmark Backcountry Tours at the Coal Creek Beacon Park in January.

The clinics are open to the public and designed to build and refine rescue skills. According to TBCA, the classes are progressive, with the first focusing on introductory single-beacon search, the second on advanced multi-burial scenarios, and the third on scene management. The clinics are billed as valuable hands-on practice in a low-pressure environment for those new to backcountry rescue or those looking to sharpen skills.

The clinics will take place on Fridays: Jan. 16, Jan. 23 and Jan. 30. Past clinics have run approximately two and a half hours in the afternoon. Sign up online here.
