ALTA, Wyo. — After a multi-year hiatus, Targhee Bluegrass Festival is making a revival this summer Aug. 11-13.

The festival was canceled in the summers of 2020, 2021 and 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The first bluegrass festival at Targhee was held in 1988.

Friday’s lineup includes Mr. Sun, Darrell Scott Band, Travelin’ McCourys with the Infamous Stringdusters headlining. The Saturday bands are Big Richard, Kitchen Dwellers, Del McCoury Band, Larkin Poe with Sam Bush Band headlining. The festival will close out on Sunday with Jerry Douglas/Daniel Kimbrough, Sam Bush, Del McCoury and Jerry Douglas, WatchHouse (formally Mandolin Orange) and Greensky Bluegrass headlining.

Camping will available this year for tent campers, car campers, and RVs, with check-in on Thursday, Aug. 10 and check-out on Monday, Aug. 14. Parking passes are required.

“Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival brings together all of the elements that make Targhee special,” says Targhee’s General Manager Geordie Gillett. “Great music, great food and mountain biking are staples of a summer at Targhee. We are excited to bring back the Bluegrass Festival.”

Tickets will go on sale online only tomorrow March 15 at noon. Hotel reservations go on sale tomorrow as well.
