JACKSON, Wyo. — It’s that time of year again, when people are itching for fresh, local produce, picked by hand and sold from a tent under the summer sun.
The area farmers markets are returning, and below is a list with all the details. Stock up on produce, meat, cheese and bread weekly, or multiple times a week. While supporting local businesses and farms, don’t forget a reusable bag!
- The People’s Market, hosted by Slow Food in the Tetons, Jackson. June 18 to September 24. Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. On the lawn at the Center for the Arts. Sip a local beer while perusing produce, artisan handmades and more.
- Farm stand, hosted by Slow Food in the Tetons, Jackson. June 26 to September 26. Thursdays and Fridays from 12 to 6 p.m. Thursday location: next to Graze Garden and Home, 890 US89. Friday location: next to Snake River Brewing, on the corner of South Jackson Street and West Hansen Ave. The farm stand specializes in fresh, local produce.
- Jackson Hole Farmers Market. June 28 to September 27. Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Jackson Town Square. The stalwart farmers market returns. Get there early for the good stuff — like tomatoes.
- Alpine Farmers Market. June 26 to September 11. Thursdays from 4 to 7 p.m. On the lawn at the Alpine Civic Center. In the past, the market has had vendors selling cheese, meat, coffee, bread and more.
- Teton Valley Farmers Market. Currently underway in Driggs until October 3. Fridays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. At the Driggs Plaza, 60 South Main Street. Opening in Victor July 8 to September 9. Tuesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. At the Victor City Park. There will be a number of rotating vendors this season, in “an attempt to keep it fresh, fun and filled with surprises,” the event organizers wrote on Facebook.
