Dr. Roberts is originally from Oklahoma and knew from childhood that he wanted to become a doctor. He said that his road to family medicine became clear during medical school.

“I started doing my clinical rotations and realized that my personality is that of a friend and advocate,” Dr. Roberts said. “It just clicked. This is what I’m supposed to do.”

Dr. Roberts holds a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Spanish from Iowa State University and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Des Moines University. He is also specially trained in osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT). OMT is a hands-on medical technique used to treat issues such as neck pain, back pain or headaches.

“I describe it to patients as a mixture between physical therapy and chiropractic work” Dr. Roberts explained. “We diagnose little changes and twists and turns in the body that might be contributing to their pain. It’s a way to help patients with acute and chronic musculoskeletal issues.”

Dr. Roberts and his family love to spend time in nature and are excited to explore Star Valley’s wilderness.

“Anything outdoors, I’m all for it,” Dr. Roberts shared.

He also enjoys a variety of sports, including snowboarding, biking, and skateboarding and plans to build a home skate ramp.

“It will be a smaller half pipe,” Dr. Roberts said with a smile. “I’m planning on building one in my barn.”

As Dr. Roberts begins his journey in Star Valley, he describes his philosophy of care as being available to all of his patients.

“I don’t want anybody to be struggling on their own,” Dr. Roberts said. “I want patients to know that they have people who care about them and want them to heal.”
